Parco del Paleoalveo, located to the south-west of Bergamo’s historic city centre, will lead the recovery of an area with great potential for the ecological continuity of the urban environmental system – acting through an intervention that aims to enhance the landscape and the existing ecological heritage in terms of protection and consolidation, but also opening the site for public use. Indeed, the area shows traces of the gradual stratification of the natural and anthropic processes whose signs can be rediscovered, with particular reference to the banks of a paleo riverbed, the presence of a canal and the survival of peculiar ecosystems linked to the characteristics of the place.
