The masterplan for the enhancement of the Priamar Fortress, symbol of Savona, and the spaces around aims to build a new narrative, which, leveraging the qualities and practices in place, contemplates the monumental complex as the heart of a park that bears its name: the Priamar park.

The key project idea is creating an accessible Fortress, no longer marked by closed borders, but by penetrable and dynamic open filters, in full symbiosis with nature.

This permeability, simultaneously conceptual and physical, is built through a rich and articulated landscape system, but unitary – due to the paths’ continuity, the material, chromatic and vegetational choices – and activated by a variety of cultural, sporting, recreational and recreational activities that aim to promote intergenerational and inclusive well-being. This multiplicity of practices and attractions, intertwining different agendas and populations (citizens, tourists, visitors), contributes to the vitality, protection, care and potentially economic sustainability of the park’s management.

In this perspective, the first masterplan drafting phase involves the definition of general guidelines for intervention, divided into seven strategic principles – from the most general dedicated to accessibility and the functional mix, to the last more specific one related to technical issues. These strategic principles bring together an abacus of specific actions, which, while maintaining a balanced degree of flexibility and variability, will help define the key interventions for each area, which can be activated at different times and in different ways. Detailed project sheets for each area outline the main actions for the redevelopment of the individual places of the fortress, composing the overall mosaic.
